Braksem Sustainable Polyethylene
Braskem is the world leader in the field of biopolymers because of Green PE, first produced on a commercial scale in September 2010.
Awarded and recognized worldwide, Braskem's Green PE highly has a very positive environmental balance because, considering the complete supply chain, it removes up to 2.15 metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere for each ton produced. The product was announced to the market in 2007, has received certification from the international Beta Analytic laboratory, and was recently certified by the Vinçotte Institute of Belgium.
Green Polyethylene is a drop-in biopolymer. Substituting conventional polyethylene with Green Polyethylene does not require investments in new plastics manufacturing machinery The Green Polyethylene portfolio features approximately 30 grades in the HDPE, LLDPE and LDPE families that cover a wide range of applications.
Supreme Petrochem Ltd (SPL), owns and operates a state-of-the art Polystyrene facility, with an installed capacity of 2,72,000 TPA, the facility also includes a world class colouring and compounding facility with an installed capacity of 25000 TPA. Cromex is a Brazilian company operating in color masterbatches, plastic additives and thermoplastic resin distribution. Masterbatches and additives manufacturing is carried out in two plants (São Paulo and Bahia), with total production capacity of 132 thousand tons per year. Company’s portfolio includes over 13 thousand colors and additives designed in its own laboratories to meet 18 different segments of processed plastics such as toys, packaging and lids for many industries (food, beverages, cosmetics, personal care, cleaning), sports industry (seating for stadiums, among other products), construction, automotive and agribusiness industries.
Polydist have represented Equate Petrochemicals for their sales of polyethylene since their plant started production in 1997. They have recently commissioned the Equate 2 facility. We established bulk materials handling facilities at London Thamesport in 2005 to manage their sea-bulk shipments.
Polydist represents Braskem for all of their products in UK market, but in particular polyethylene and polypropylene. Braskem recently acquired other Brasilian producers, Ipiranga and Quattor and in May 2010, concluded the acquisition of US polypropylene producer Sunoco. They have an extensive product portfolio and they are the world’s first “green” polyethylene manufacturer.
